Have you ever felt like you’re standing still even though you are engaged in a number of activities? That has been me recently, yes I am still in school full time (with graduation a little over 5 months away), yes I am still a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, minister, and career woman building a brand. But why do I feel like my feet are stuck in the mud? (which seems to be cement based). I was sitting in the woe is me corner going for my second pity treat when a thought came to me. I had heard it while watching a movie with my youngest grandchild Zoe’ it wasn’t our first time watching this movie, or our second. Zoe’ is 3 years old and as most of you who are parents know they can watch the same movie several times (like hundreds of times). The movie was “Meet the Robinsons” and the statement that stayed with me was: “Keep Moving Forward.” I realized things may not always be moving as fast as we think they should be, my progress may not be as fast as the next person. My rise may not be metoric, but it is steady, a determined stride one foot in front of the other.
The realization that came to me was this: I am an authority on one person, me and I am responsible to see to it that I don’t give up or quit. It’s okay to get tired but, just because you get tired that doesn’t mean you quit. Don’t look back because what’s behind is the past, and what’s ahead is the future, just keep moving forward with the knowledge that as long as you are moving you are making progress. It may be slow and steady but it is progress non the less. Never give up just remember to KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!! (written and posted February 2019) Boy have things changed since then!
